How to Use Your Sling

Practice and patience is key in getting use to threading and properly positioning your baby in the sling. Follow the steps below carefully using common sense and your own discretion. You will become more comfortable and familiar the more often you use the sling.

  7 With the rings high on your shoulder, tighten the sling around your elbow before putting baby in the sling so there is minimal adjusting once you place your baby in the sling.

 8 Place your baby high on your shoulder as if to burp them. Holding them with one hand, bring your other hand under the fabric loop to pull their legs through.

 9 Seat them on the top rail, pull fabric up flat against their back, then pull fabric between their legs up towards their belly button. All weight should be in their seat, knees higher than their bum.

Hip Carry Hold

 Follow the steps listed above. When you have your baby seated on the rail, simply slide them over to your hip. Note: Only use this hold for babies with strong neck control.

Tail Tips

 
 Newborn twist: Once you have the sling secure twist the tail of the sling and pull across the top rail and tuck in. If there is additional fabric on the top rail you can fold that down over your twisted tail. This will provide additional neck support for newborns and infants with little neck strength.

 Tail wrap: An easy way to store the sling tail is by wrapping the tail around the rings and simply tucking in.   Nursing: The tail can be used as both a cover or a sunshield while feeding your baby.
